Organic farming in India: A big win
January 21, 2024: A field study from Andhra Pradesh has proved that artificial farming is only a hype and organic farming in India is the definite way forward as experts grapple for practical solutions to the country’s agrarian crisis. The study yet again proved that chemical farming, as opposed to zero budget natural farming, is a hype created by agribusiness companies. A hype that’s been created to ensure the sale of costly fertilisers and costly pesticides.
The study is called: ‘Natural Farming Through a Wide-Angle Lens: True Cost Accounting Study of Community Managed Natural Farming’. It was done by G.I.S.T. Impact in collaboration with the Global Alliance for the Future of Food. It investigated and found the untold benefits of organic farming in India, and called upon the country to learn from the Andhra example.

This field study clearly proved that zero budget natural farming can help save the struggling Indian farmer. Not fancy technology and chemical inputs. Crops such as paddy, maize, and millets, if handled organically, can easily outshine their synthetic counterparts. And your wallet will thank you too – a hefty 49% income-boost is possible for farmers who decide to try out organic farming in India.
It sounds incredible; in fact, almost impossible. Well, that’s because agribusiness companies hype up chemical farming through catchy and misleading ads. Unfortunately, paid politicians planted by agribusiness companies promote chemical farming, and demonise zero budget natural farming.
The paid media has extensively and repeatedly propagated chemical farming. There is no discussion about the benefits of organic farming in India as a solution to a rising health crisis. This real-world experiment gave them a reality-check.
